EVENT :: Faces of Truth Beauty Marathon

Faces of Truth Beauty Marathon is an all day affair where 10 Makeup artists are each assigned a model to create a clean beauty look. So make-up artists can add to their portfolios, along with the models. Wine and light refreshments will be provided.
Cost
$99 for MUAs participating in the beauty marathon. This includes one look and two retouched photos. ( $175 value)  
$10 for Meet & Greet/general admission (2pm – 6pm)

Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” Video Inspired Green Smokey Eyes

Over the weekend I watched Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” video for the first time and I have to say that I absolutely LOVE IT!  Loved the pop art and vibrant colors and can’t forget Rihanna’s sensuality…she was actually dancing in this video so I was really impressed.

The video inspired me so I decided to have a little fun and rock a colorful and dramatic look, green smokey eye.

Here’s how  I got the look:

1. First I prepped my eyes with  Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance Primer.
2. I used my Sephora Ultimate Blockbuster Kit for my shadows. I applied a light green to the inner color of my eyes.
3. I dusted a jewel-toned green to the middle of my lids and blended the light and jewel-toned colors.
4. I layered black shadow to the outer corner and brought it up into the crease and blended it. I wanted a extreme dramatic look so I blended it up to the brow bone.
5. I then applied black cream liner and smudge it.
6. I applied black liner to my water line and black shadow on the lower lash line midpoint to the outer corner. I then applied the jewel-tone green to the inner corner to midpoint.
7. I applied false lashes and applied mascara to the lower lash line.
8. I completed the look with a icy lipstick and clear lip gloss.

Black Collection Underwear Shoot

I did a shoot last week for Black Collection’s New Signature Underwear. I had the opportunity to finally work with photographer Ajani Truth. I hadn’t done a undie shoot in over 3 years so I was a bit nervous, but I think the photos turned out great!



Not to mention, the underwear was very comfy and of course cute.

Pics From My Photo Shoot

As I told you last week, I had an important shoot this past weekend for an upcoming project. The shoot was with fab photographer, David Hill from Visual Cocktail. I’ve worked with David before and have taken some of my best photos with him, so I knew to expect nothing but the best.

The shoot was scheduled with me and two other models, with whom I’ve never worked with before. Everything was confirmed, the studio, MUA, models and stylist. Unfortunately on the day of the shoot, one of the models was a no show. After all the money and time that had been invested in the shoot, I was highly annoyed, but luckily the other model, Crystal did show and she able to call one of her friends to fill in for the no show.
