Feature Friday :: güd from Burt’s Bees Product Review

Last week I received a nice güdde package of products from güd by Burt’s Bees.  I’ve used Burt’s Bees products before, but this  was my first time using güd, so I was excited to try everything out.  Like Burt Bee’s, all güd products are made with natural ingredients - no petrochemicals, parabens or pthalates and never tested on animals. So that was definitely a plus!

In my I received:

Floral Cherrynova Natural Body Wash ($7 10 fl. oz.)

The scent of soft cherry blossoms and creamy almond milk will gently revive you while chamomile conditions your skin. So your shower is a spa, not a rude awakening.

Orange Petalooza Natural Body Mist ($6)

Mist a little into the air. Walk into the mist. Now go hug it out with someone so they can smell the exhilarating high notes of hyacinth and blood orange, you plucky girl, you.

Vanilla Flame Natural Body Lotion ($7)

Let the exotic scent of vanilla and rice milk leave your skin smelling so wonderful, it inspires love letters. And poems. And sonnets. And the occasional misspelled text message.

First, I tried the body wash.  I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Floral Cherrynova scent.  It almost reminded me of my favorite scent from Bath and Body Works, Cherry Blossom.  It seemed like the scent lingered on me all day.  Orange Petalooza is very loud.  I’m not a fan of citrus scents, so the Orange Petalooza body mist, didn’t do it for me.  Maybe I’ll try the mist in Floral Cherrynova next time.  I’ve always enjoy the scent of vanilla, so while the Vanilla Flame Body Lotion did smell good, it wasn’t the  most hydrating.  Needless to say, it won’t replace my regular lotion.

While I wasn’t too crazy about the Orange Petalooza scent and the body lotion, I did find a scent I liked, and really, their prices are very reasonable, compared to Bath and Body Works.  Not to mention, the products are made from naturally güd stuff.  I’m still anxious to try their body butter and handcream in Floral Cherrynova of course!

Product Review Video :: Bobbi Brown’s Buffing Grains for Face

Flaky, dry skin…welcome to Winter! The frigid temperature, harsh winds, with little moisture, can do damage to the skin.  As you may have read in some of my previous posts, exfoliating plays a huge factor in fighting the winter skin blues.

I started using Bobbi Brown’s Buffing Grains for Face a few weeks away, twice a week.  Buffing grains is formulated with Japanese Adzuki Bean Powder, which helps remove dry patches and encourages skin cell turnover.  It’s also a 2-in-1, you can combine it with your cleanser or apply it with water.  It comes in a .99 oz/28 g. glass bottle with a pour top and priced at $42.

NEW Product Review Video :: Korres Quercetin & Oak Antiaging Eye Primer

I recently received a sample of Korres’s Quercetin & Oak Antiaging Eye Primer with compliments from BeautyStat.com, but my review is my own objective opinion.  I was excited to try the primer because Korres is an amazing brand of natural products.  I love their Wild Rose Mask: Instant Brightness & Illumination and Pomegrante Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes.

Here’s the run down: It’s a 3 in 1 primer, corrector and antiaging product. This primer claims to be a crease-proof, long-lasting eye shadow and concealer primer. Enriched with quercetin and oak extracts, it’s suppose to minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to provide softer skin while visibly improving skin texture. The primer has an apricot undertone that corrects darkness and imperfections on the eyelid and undereye area.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

My issue with most primers are that they aren’t long lasting, my eye shadow fades or creases by the end of the day; if I don’t wear eye primer, my eyes will burn by the end of the day and some primers help with it and some don’t; finally I have noticed some primers like Urban Decay’s have leaves a white residue on my lid.

I tried Korres’s Quercetin & Oak Antiaging Eye Primer over the weekend and here’s my review on it:

New Video :: KeraCare Edge Tamer & Oil Sheen Review

I have finally got the opportunity to do another product review video (Check out the other two reviews on Finickey Hair Care & Shea Moisture).  This video review is on KeraCare Hair Care Products.  I found out about this brand when I visited my sister’s salon and I asked her about some of the products she used.  The review is on KeraCare’s Oil Sheen with Humidity Block and the Edge Tamer.  Check it out:

Product Review :: Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter

As a beauty addict, I’m always on the prowl for the next best product.    I recently colored my hair, so I needed a product that strengthen and deeply moisturized my hair. This past weekend, I was strolling down Target’s hair aisle in search of a new shampoo and conditioner when I came across Shea Moisture products.  I had never heard of the brand before, but looking at the ingredients on the label and  seeing that this was an organic brand, free of parabens, animal testing, sulfates and other chemicals, I had become extremely interested in trying out.

They have three lines of products for different hair concerns (dry & damaged hair; dry & itchy scalp; and thickening). Due to the dry and fragile nature of recently coloring my hair, I purchased their Organic Raw Shea Butter’s Moisture Retention Shampoo and Deep Treatment Masque, each $9.99.

I shampooed my hair, then followed up with the Deep Treatment Masque.  I left the masque on for about 45 minutes and then dried and styled my hair.
